Since 2005, Fannie Mae has occupied a 247,000 square foot facility in Urbana Corporate Center. This $130 million dollar Technology Center houses 250 employees, and became the first data center to earn certification under the LEED (leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program.

In 2011, Legal General, formerly known as Banner Life Insurance Company, relocated its corporate headquarters to Urbana. Legal General, one of the leading providers of term life insurance products in the United States, moved approximately 400 employees from Montgomery County to the 115,000 square foot building developed and constructed by Natelli Communities and The Akridge Company.

The General Services Administration is the most recent to break ground in Urbana Corporate Center. The Social Security Administration's National Support Center is scheduled to open in 2014. SSI plans to hire 200 employees to be housed in the 300,000 square foot, $500 million structure.
